Peltier modules for calibrated quenching at high temperature in space applications

We built Peltier modules with iron disilicide (β FeSi2) thermoelectric material to perform a pulse of heating or cooling at high temperature (up to 1000K) .These modules allowed a precise and fast temperature control of an experimental cell provided for the study of the chemical reaction in critical/ supercritical fluids in selected microgravity experiments . The technique of fabrication of the modules as well as the measurement set-up are described and discussed.
